That was Malía's resounding greeting to the world on Christmas morning when she saw that there were NEW presents under the tree, and that her stocking was lying under it too, too full to hang :)
In addtion to Mama's gifts of some art supplies, a Candyland game(which by the way is not a big hit- too simple and well.. boring :) and clothes, gifts from other friends and some relatives, there was a long blue sled that would easily accomodate her, and Mama (and yesterday did!:), a Step2 Art Easel (the 2 latter gifts were requests to Santa by her grandparents) and THE VIOLIN!!! This one was both a reason for rejoicing and a little disappointment, too, when she realized that, not knowing how to play, she couldn't produce sound, (and we're on the hunt for lessons, now!) BUT, she was still very happy that Santa heard her wish, and came through.
After she'd opened her gifts, it occured to her that she hadn't checked on the status of the milk and cookies she'd left for Santa, downstairs, where our firepalce actually is. She was in awe that he'd eaten 2 1/2 cookies and drank nearly all the milk down! However, she was a little boggled by the fact that our hearth is enclosed by glass. I showed her the little air vents and explained that Santa's magic includes shrinking to the size of a teeny bug. No worries after that! LOL
Mama and Malia got a joint gift of The Beatles' Red and Blue compilation albums on CD (Mama once recieved these in vinyl back in the 70's!) and they're Mal's new fav drving music. She loves "the boys" yeah, yeah, yeah!
Now, we just need Santa to make good on his promise of "in the new year", and he'll be off the hook until December 2011!
