Yeah, you guessed it! Blog Effect transcended even my switching of blogs!!
Bad night + early morning = tired, grumpy Mama.
But, still hoping it was a fluke b/c Malía is also sick with a bad cold. The over the counter meds barely seem to give her relief.
Doesn't stop her from being raring to go at 7 am on a Sunday (she's also been up at 1, 2, 3:30. and 5!!) as this conversation proves:
Setting: Mama's bed. Mama is trying to stay cozy and get Mal back to sleep. Mal is having none of it.
Mal (sitting up): Não quero, Não quero, Não quero Não quero... (a litany of "I don't want to"
Mama: Honey it's too early!
Mal: No! Não quero!!
Mama: Aw, come on, Mal. Have a heart.
Mal: (getting up and standing at the window above the bed) No. Mama, ou'side.
Mama: Don't even think it.
Mal: Debbie (our neighbour)
Mama: She's in bed where you should be. (I pull her down and she bumps her knee on the headboard)
Mal: Ow!
Mama: What now, Malía?
Mal: Doi-Doi! (boo-boo) It hur's! Ow.
Mama: Here, let me kiss it.
(she smothers ME in kisses then)
Mal: Down? Chão (floor)
Mama: Mal!
Mal: Couch?? TV. Peese. (grabs my face) Peese, Mama. Couch. (she says the ch like sh and gives me a bunch of kisses)
Mama: In a minute- give me just a minute.
She throws herself on top of me, I get an elbow in the ovaries, a hand on the trachea, a forehead in the eye. There is much ow-ing and moaning, all from me)
Mal: (astride me)Chó-chó, chó-chó (horsey) and proceeds to bounce. (I am thinking I might throw up)
(then noticing my pj top) Mama, 'is pupple.
Mama: Yes, baby. What else?
Mal: Wed, peenk, bwon.
Mal: Very good, Mali.
(I try to cuddle her back to the mattress)
Mal: No, mama, shop it! shop it! (stop it)
(she hears a truck outside and jumps up again)
Mal: Ou'side! Twuck! Blue Twuck!
Mama: Uncle Ewold? (debbie's husband)
Mal: Yeah! Ewolt! Ou'side! Shwings!
Mama: Mal! NO SWINGS! It's too EARLY!!
Mal: (there is a pause, then hopefully) Vai pa paia? (vai pra praia? - we go to the beach??)
(Mama laughs outloud and gets up to fix breakfast :)
Thankfully, she ate well- an egg, 1/2 slice whole grain bread, 1/4 cup frozen blueberries, 2 Maria cookies (begged b/c she she saw the box), water. At 7am, she'd had milk, too.)

When our babies learn to talk, we get all kinds of excited. When they KEEP talking, the fun wares off!
Mal really talks a lot!
